Our teachers are well trained, experienced and dedicated to encouraging and teaching each student as they attain the grace, poise and self confidence that proper classical ballet training imparts. Our teachers act as wholesome role models and students are expected to exhibit good manners and consideration of others as a part of their ballet training.
Nancy Smith has studied extensively (including Joffery Ballet School, Ballet Repertory School) and has performed as soloist with Ballet Repertory Company of New York, Shreveport Ballet, and San Antonio Ballet Company, later serving as Ballet Mistress for that company. She has staged classical ballets for many organizations and her students have been accepted into major ballet companies and have become teachers and choreographers. She has coached students for International Ballet Competition in Lausanne, Switzerland, Jackson, Mississippi, and Helsinki, Finland.
Sandra Bravo trained at Escuela Superior de Musica y Danza(ESMD) in Monterrey, Mexico as a performer and student. She has a BA in dance, was a member of the Faculty Admissions Department,served as a judge for Final Exam and Exit Exams, and taught for The Royal Academy of Monterrey. She has acted as a choreographer for many stage productions and her students have been accepted into major ballet companies.
Billie Fielden has been owner/director of PASCB for 15 years. Her students have been accepted into major ballet companies (including four who became principal dancers), they have been awarded Ford Foundation Scholarships and danced in Broadway musicals. "Miss Billie" has taught ballet for 50 years and previously owned a successful school in West Texas for twenty years. She has performed in, directed and choreographed numerous television and stage productions and has been an instructor for the Cecchetti Method Exam Preparation Classes for Teachers.
Amy Luna trained at Performing Arts School of Classical Ballet with "Miss Billie" from age 9, and later with Nancy Smith, until high school graduation. She attended Belhaven College in Jackson, Missippi obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance and also a degree in Business Administration. While at Belhaven, she studied with Thalia Mara and Kathy Thibodeaux (director of Ballet Magnificat. Amy teaches Ballet IV.
Katy Keener also trained with "Miss Billie" from age three and continues to dance in our Repertory Class and Ballet V, with Nancy Smith as instructor. Miss Katy completed our Teachers Training Course and for the past 4 years has been teaching our younger students in Pre-Ballet, Primary, and Ballet Grade I, as well as our first year pointe students in Grade IIB.
Desiree Johnson Cortez trained in our school for 3 years and following high school graduation, she attended Columbia Arts College in Chicago, Illinois and studied Ballet, Jazz and Drama. For the past two years she has taught our Pre-Ballet, Ballet Grade IIA and Lyrical Jazz.
Elizabeth Saathoff trained with Miss Billie and Nancy Smith from age 9 and for the past 4 years has continued to dance with our Repertory group and Ballet V while acting as our School Office Manager. She has completed our Teacher Training Course and teaches Ballet IV.
